Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 Season 2 new changes, modernized maps, and more

Rainbow Six Siege X is set to take over in June 2025, and the tactical shooter from 2015 will go through a huge evolution, thanks to a bunch of upgrades planned by Ubisoft.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming with Siege X Year 10 season two, including a new game mode, modernized maps, advanced rappelling, weapon inspection, and more.

All Operator balancing changes

  • Blackbeard: This Attacker now has a tint added to the outside glass, along with an improved audio cue for his glass being attached or lowered. This has been done to make it easier to tell if Blackbeard’s head is exposed or not.
  • Sledge: Sledge can now disrupt enemies who are equipped with a Ballistic Shield by knocking them back with his Hammer. This will remove their protection and expose them—a perfect counter to the new Clash rework.
  • Jackal: Jackal has three changes to its kit:
    • Eyenox Model III resources increased to 5 from 3.
    • Hunter Mark pings have been reduced to always 1 from 2 to 5, and the debuff has been removed.
    • Coldest (blue) footprints duration increased to 120 seconds from 90 seconds.
  • Jager: Jager’s ADS (Active Defense System) will now:
    • Detect and destroy Capitao’s Incendiary and Micro Smoke Bolts.
    • Detect and destroy Gridlock’s Trax Stingers.
  • Thunderbird: This Defender’s Kona Station will only heal allies now.
  • Ela: Her Grizmot Mine’s concussion range is reduced to 4 meters from 7 meters.
  • Zofia: Zofia’s KS79 Lifeline will now:
    • Have a lower concussion range of 4.25 meters from 7 meters.
    • A reduced concussion detection range to 4 meters from 5 meters.

Clash rework

Clash has been finally reworked in Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 season two. She can now roam freely while placing her shield anywhere on the map as a gadget and control it remotely.

  • Movement: Can sprint, crouch, vault, and dash through barricades, but the shield will collapse automatically while performing those actions.
  • CCE Shield MK2: Can be deployed and picked up again.
    • The shield can be destroyed with explosives.
    • Anyone can bash through the shield to destroy it.
    • The Taser Battery can be destroyed by a Kludge Drone. The shield will stay intact, but the Taser cannot be used anymore.
  • Taser:
    • Can be toggled on and off using the Switch Ability Button. When the shield is not equipped, Clash will use a Remote Controller to do so.
    • The electricity doesn’t deal damage, but it will slow down enemies. The intensity depends on the movement direction (stronger towards Clash).
    • Battery increased to 10 seconds from 5 seconds.
    • A wider area of effect.

Advanced Rappelling, weapon inspection, and modernized maps

Rappelling is getting more realistic and immersive, thanks to smoother and improved controls that will allow you to run and jump around building corners horizontally.

Starting Rainbow Six Siege X season two, we can inspect weapons to admire the beauty of the skins. We are also getting modernized versions of some classic Siege maps, such as Bank, Border, Chalet, Clubhouse, and Kafe, with new lighting, shadows, and 4K textures.

While that covers the majority of Year 10 season two, you can check the Y10S2 designer’s notes as well as the entire Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 roadmap for more information.
