Rain lashes many districts in east Rajasthan, Churu gets 135mm

JAIPUR: Moderate to heavy rainfall was witnessed in many districts in the eastern Rajasthan like Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Alwar on Friday.

Many places and farms in Dausa, Mahwa and Dholpur witnessed heavy rainfall that lasted for almost an hour. Rajgarh (Churu) received a rainfall of 135mm which was highest in the state, the Met reports said.

Attributing the revival of the monsoon rainfall to the active easterly winds, Met office stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall will take place at some parts in the eastern and some parts in the western Rajasthan.

Heavy waterlogging was seen at the Jaipur-Agra highway from Dausa to Bharatpur where the service lane was almost inundated. At Dausa and Bharatpur, heavy waterlogging created troubles for the commuters and the traffic remained chaotic for more than three hours on the road. Jaipur witnessed dark clouds through the day but they only converted in drizzles except for some scattered rainfall on Goner road, Aadarsh Nagar some parts of Sanganer area in the city. However, the weather was mainly pleasant across the city.
