Railways install 88 advanced ATVMs at 55 major stations of SECR for convenience of passengers

RAIPUR: South East Central Railway (SECR) has installed 88 advanced automatic ticket vending machines (ATVM) at 55 major railway stations of the SECR for the convenience of daily commuters.

The highest 38 ATVMs have been installed at 19 stations of Bilaspur division of SECR followed by 30 machines at 23 stations of Nagpur division and 19 ATVMs at 13 stations of Raipur division.

Passengers will not have to stand in long queues as they will now be able to extract general (unreserved) tickets from ATVMs, said SECR on Friday.

The stations which will have ATVMs are Bilaspur, Champa, Raigarh, Shahdol, Korba, Anuppur, Akaltara, Naila, Pendra Road, Kharsia, Umaria, Kotma, Shakti, Budhar, Baradwar, Ambikapur, Brajrajnagar, Belpahar, Uslapur, Kargi Road, Gondia, Itwari, Rajnandgaon , Chhindwara, Balaghat, Bhandara Road, Dongargarh, Kamathi, Tumsar Road, Vadsa, Amgaon, Tiroda, Chanda Fort, Arjuni, Brahmpuri, Varasivni, Birsola, Mul Maroda, Saundad, Nagbhid, Katangi, Nainpur, Ghansor, Raipur, Durg, Bhilai Power House, Bhatapara, Tilda, Nipania, Hathband, Bilha, Dalli Rajhara, Bhilai Nagar, Balod and Maroda.

Tickets can also be purchased through UPI as well as through cash and smart cards from the ATVMs installed by the Railways. This card is recharged like a Metrocard. After buying a ticket from ATVMs, its fare will be deducted from ATVM card only.

To buy a ticket from ATVM, the station for which ticket is to be bought first can be selected from the map or by writing its name followed by the Class of the train in which a passenger wants to travel has to be selected. After this the ticket fare will have to be paid. Tickets can also be paid through UPI and cash. If the ticket is to be taken from a smart card, then by choosing the option of smart card, a passenger has to place his or her card on the sensor holding the card on the machine. After which the machine will automatically deduct the fare from your card and a printed ticket will come out from the machine.

Daily commuters can also renew their MST. The new ATVM machine is made passenger friendly. The ATVM will be used to purchase both unreserved and platform tickets.

Daily commuters can renew their monthly and quarterly tickets at the ATVM. Passengers will get the benefit of three% bonus for using R-Wallet for payment. Passengers can buy tickets using railway smart cards and QR code-UPI based payment facility. Tickets will be printed on thermal paper in the new ATVMs.
