NAVI MUMBAI: A 28-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death and then hanged himself in their rented home at Neral, Raigad, in the presence of their two sons aged five and six. The police said that the man, Pintu Ram, a welder, suspected his wife of being involved with another man.
Inspector Rajendra Tendulkar, however, said that his suspicion of the extra marital affair now turns out to be false. Last week, Pintu had lodged a missing person's complaint for Puja who returned home later. The couple got into an argument when Pintu allegedly attacked her with a scissor and a knife before hanging himself. Their sons are now with their mother's family.
