Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch plans to retire

One of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL is expected to walk away from the game for a second time.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Marshawn Lynch is not planning on playing in the NFL again after a two-year stint with the Raiders.

Not having Lynch in 2019 will be a loss for the Raiders — he was highly effective when he played. Over the last two years, Lynch has averaged 4.3 yards per carry and scored 10 touchdowns on 332 touches. Lynch will finish his career with 10,379 career rushing yards and 93 total touchdowns.

If this is truly the end for Lynch in the NFL, he was one of the most enjoyable players to watch. He was a leader for the Raiders and arguably one of the top running backs of this generation. So long, Beast Mode.
