Raheem Sterling spotted at London Stadium ahead of Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees

Raheem Sterling appears to be enjoying his summer break by rubbing shoulders with fellow sports stars after he was seen at the London Stadium chatting with New York Yankees' pitcher.

The Yankees take on Boston Red Sox at West Ham United's London Stadium on June 29 and 30 in the first ever regular MLB game to be played in Europe.

The Yankees are currently top of the American League West division, with reigning World Series champions Boston in third place following their 8-7 defeat to Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park on Wednesday.

And Sterling may have been giving tips to pitcher CC Sabathia about how to win at the London Stadium after a goal by the England star helped his Manchester City side to a 4-0 victory over West Ham in the same venue last season.

The former Olympics venue has undergone a dramatic transformation to get ready for the two matches between the great rivals, and after the MLB have international events in Mexico, Japan, Australia and Puerto Rico, they will no doubt be hoping London can open up previously untapped markets.

Speaking about the two fixtures, Boston star Matt Barnes said: "It's one of the biggest rivalries that we have going over to play the first games in Europe. At the end of the day, though, it is a business trip.

"It's going to be cool to see London and wander around, kind of get a feel for their culture, but we have business to take care of as well."

As well as Sterling, other high-profile names such as the Duke of Sussex are scheduled to attend.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone believes the fixtures have the potential to have a huge impact on the sport this side of the Atlantic.

"I've never been here, but you see that baseball does have a universal language. It connects people," Boone said.

"To see people out here, whatever level of experience they have in the game, they share a passion for it.

"It's connecting with a younger generation in a different place."
