INDORE: Sanyogitaganj police wrote a letter to MGM authorities seeking details about action taken against suspect identified in relation to ragging complaint filed with them.
The police identified contact numbers of around eight suspected day scholars studying in second and third year of MBBS course in MGM during investigation. They then handed over information to medical college authorities for confirming identities of these students.
Sanyogitaganj police station in-charge Tehzeeb Kazi said, “Police had sought details from whatsapp, anti-ragging helpline of UGC to confirm about accused and complainant in case for corroboration of facts found during investigation.”
The police have claimed to find a first year MBBS student, who informed them about ragging done to him during investigation. The police however want a couple of more students to come forward in the matter.
Kazi further said, “The police will act against the accused once after receiving technical evidence in the case. The cyber cell is also working on it.”
The police completed recording of statements of around ten first year MBBS students, who are identified as suspected victims of ragging from MGM. The police however claimed that the anti-ragging committee of MGM should have investigated the matter to help us in the investigation.
On these charges MGM dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said, “The college received a complaint copy along with audio clip, screenshot of chats and other electronic evidence in the case. The anti-ragging committee of forensic experts recommended a police investigation.”
“The committee was of the view that they can’t investigate based on electronic evidence,” said Dr Dixit.In a shocking incident on July 24, a ragging matter came to fore, where MBBS first year student claimed being asked to do sex with pillow, unnatural sex with batch mates, slap them loud and clear.
