Rafael Nadal brushes aside Joao Sousa to reach Wimbledon quarter-finals

Rafael Nadal has coasted into the quarter-finals at Wimbledon after breezing past Joao Sousa on Centre Court.

The 33-year-old needed just under two hours on court to defeat the Portuguese 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 in one hour and 45 minutes.

Nadal, who hasn't won at SW19 since 2010, looks in good shape to make his third straight Grand Slam final after dominating against Sousa.

The Portuguese, who beat Dan Evans in a epic five-setter in the previous round, looked jaded and unable to cope with the third seed's power.

Nadal raced into a 4-0 lead in the first set after just 14 minutes of play and wrapped up the first in under half an hour.

From there, it looked an uphill battle for Sousa, who was kept at an arm's distance by Nadal as he conceded just six games in the entire match.

The 18-time Grand Slam winner will face an American in the last eight, with either Sam Querrey or Tennys Sandgren meeting him in the quarter-finals.
