Rachel Allen shares pride as son Lucca bags title at major racing competition

Rachel Allen shared her pride as her son Lucca celebrated a win at a racing competition this week.

Lucca, 20, who is the youngest son of the TV chef and author, has been busy racing and cementing himself as a talent on the track around the globe since he was a teenager.

And Rachel was proud as punch to share his recent triumph in his latest competition as he came out victorious at the 2022 European Ultimate Cup Endurance Series.

The mother-of-three, 51, who is celebrating her birthday today, wrote: “Yippee!! Huge congratulations to Lucca who this weekend clinched the driver title in the 2022 European Ultimate Cup Endurance Series.

“What an exciting 8 months racing for him across Spain, France, Italy and Germany in his Le Mans Prototype 3 racing car.

“Yesterday a win in Magny-Cours International Circuit, France and still with one round to go was enough to take the pressure off and the championship title is in the bag!”

She added: “A huge thank you to all his sponsors for making this possible. Well done Lucca….. looking forward to seeing you soon. Next stop Le Mans 24h!!!!'

Lucca credited his team for helping him clinch the win, saying: “P1.We got a win from a great team effort today. Thanks to my team @graffracing for a great car and great job to my teammates.”

Friends and famous faces rushed to send their congratulations as they both shared pictures of Lucca on track at the Magny-Cours International Circuit in France in all his glory.

Telly chef Gary O'Hanlon, who works with Rachel on Virgin Media’s The Restaurant, was very impressed, saying: “Amazing news. You must be bursting with pride. He is living my dream.

“Going buck wild mental in some of the greatest machines ever made. Heaven.

“Is he gonna be doing the 24hrs Le Mans???? Holy shit.”

Fellow Irish TV chef, Catherine Fulvio added: “Congratulations Lucca. What an amazing achievement.”
