Quorn set to launch range of readymade sandwiches and wraps for hungry veggies

Veggie brand Quorn is set to start producing readymade wraps and sandwiches.

The new range is said to include sweet chilli and Caesar wraps, along with a variety of sandwiches.

Quorn's sandwich fillings will consist of the brand's imitation chicken with stuffing or salad, and sliced vegetarian ham salad.

A Ploughman's sarnie will also be on available.

The sandwiches and wraps will be priced at £3.29.

The meat-free industry is currently worth an estimated £308m, and Teesside-based Quorn has invested more than £12m in the past year to increase awareness of the brand.

The move comes after great success in Quorn's partnership with Greggs on its vegan sausage roll and a recent trial with KFC on an 'imposter' chicken burger .

Although the range is meat free, it will not be vegan friendly.

If you're keen to try them, the range is set to launch in selected universities that have a McColl's store on campus, and then, according to a spokesperson from Quorn, will roll out on a wider scale.
