Queer Eye star says ending of hit Netflix show was ‘bittersweet’

  • Jonathan Van Ness described the conclusion of Netflix's Queer Eye as "bittersweet," acknowledging varying relationships among the cast members, with some being closer than others.
  • The final season of the popular reality series, which saw Van Ness as part of the "fab five," was released earlier this year amid controversy surrounding cast member Karamo Brown's absence from the press tour due to mental health concerns.
  • Van Ness expressed gratitude for the show's nearly decade-long run but also excitement to "explore new things" and "see what life has to offer" following its end.
  • Van Ness set to bring their stand-up comedy show, "Hot & Healed," to the UK, starting in London on 17 May, promising a "queerer and raunchier" performance than their work on Queer Eye.
  • The comedian's new show will address healing from contemporary societal issues, including the "violence of the gender binary" and the impact of being featured in a pro-Trump ad campaign, using comedy to bring "levity" to challenging subjects.
