Queen health: Senior Royals land at Aberdeen Airport and head to Balmoral

Seven members of the Royal Family have landed at Aberdeen Airport as The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral, with doctors concerned for her health.

Buckingham Palace has said that after being checked over by doctors this morning, Queen Elizabeth II is being kept comfortable at Balmoral. The 96-year-old monarch pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, a day after appointing Liz Truss as PM at her home in the Scottish Highlands.

A Palace spokesperson said: "Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

The Queen's close family including the Prince of Wales have been informed, with the latest announcement escalating fears for the monarch's health. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to Balmoral, Clarence House said.

A private jet left RAF Northolt and arrived at Aberdeen Airport just before 4pm on Thursday, September 8. It was believed seven members of the royal family were onboard, with four being seen leaving the plane.

The Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex were seen leaving the plane wearing black and getting into a number of vehicles on the tarmac.

It's also believed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were onboard.

The nation's longest-reigning monarch has ongoing mobility issues and looked bright but frail and used a walking stick during Tuesday's historic audience with Ms Truss, which followed a visit from outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson as he tendered his resignation.
