Quarantine can’t stop Steelers HC Mike Tomlin from talking football

Everyone is adjusting to life under varying levels of quarantine during this COVID-19 pandemic. The NFL has locked staff out of team facilities and so they are forced to handle their daily activities from home. I suspect that most NFL head coaches like Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin are extreme Type A personalities and have a hard time thinking about anything but work so under any circumstances football is the focus.

According to Tomlin’s wife Kiya, he’s still all about the work, even from his home office. “I don’t know what they are talking about but all I know is just that they just talk soooooo much football,” Tomlin said.

No one should be shocked Tomlin is maintaining his business as usual approach even while under quarantine.

At this point, every team’s focus is on the upcoming NFL draft. With teams unable to convene as a group for the three-day event, prep work ahead of the start is even more important.

The Steelers go into the draft with many of their top offseason needs met in free agency. This gives Pittsburgh an opportunity to draft the best player available with their top pick. This strategy could prove to be especially fruitful given the circumstances surrounding pre-draft prep.
