Qualys Stock Rises As Earnings Guidance Tops Estimates

Qualys earnings for the second quarter topped analyst estimates, while revenue edged by Wall Street targets. Qualys stock climbed Monday afternoon as September-quarter earnings guidance came in above views.

Foster City, Calif.-based Qualys reported June-quarter earnings after the market close. The cybersecurity firm said adjusted earnings rose 12% from a year earlier to 89 cents a share. Revenue rose 20% to $119.9 million.

A year earlier, Qualys reported earnings of 79 cents a share on sales of $99.7 million.

Analysts expected the company to report earnings of 79 cents per share on sales of $117.5 million for the period ended June 30.

Qualys Earnings Guidance Tops Estimates

For the current September quarter, Qualys said it expects profit of 86 cents at the midpoint of the company's own guidance. It forecast revenue of $124.8 million. Analysts had projected third-quarter profit of 75 cents a share on revenue of $124 million.

Qualys forecast 2022 sales in a range of $488 million to $489.5 million, representing 19% growth over 2021, up from the previous guidance range of $484 million to $486.5 million.

QLYS stock climbed 3.7% to 132.12 in extended trading on the stock market today.

Heading into the earnings report, QLYS stock owned a Relative Strength Rating of 88 out of a best-possible 99, according to IBD Stock Checkup.
