QPR handed injury boost ahead of Leeds United visit

Queens Park Rangers will be looking to put their loss to Brentford behind them when Leeds United visit on Saturday.

The 3-1 defeat at the hands of their West London rivals left them in 15th position in the Championship and third from bottom in the league's form table with four losses in the last six games and just a single win.

The good news for manager Mark Warburton is that he only has one injury to worry about heading into the match against second placed Leeds United.

Centre back Yoann Barnet has made 12 starts for the Rs so far this season but sustained a muscle injury which has kept him out of the squad since a 2-2 draw with Reading in late October. He was expected to be back earlier but has suffered a set back.

Speaking to the media ahead of the trip to Griffin Park, Warburton said: “Yoann is probably two weeks away. He had a reoccurrence of his injury four or five weeks ago and apart from that we are in okay shape after a tough, gruelling programme through the busy Christmas period.”

In November, the reverse fixture saw Leeds United come away with all three points, winning 2-0 at Elland Road with goals from Tyler Roberts and Jack Harrison.

Leeds United take on QPR on Saturday, January 18 with kick off at 12.30pm.
