QLD:Former doctor charged with 94 counts of rape

A former doctor has been charged with almost 150 offences after being accused of sexually assaulting 15 women at a private health centre.

The 74-year-old man is set to appear in court on almost 100 counts of rape after police alleged he assaulted women aged from their late teens to their 40s between the early 2000s to 2015.

The man committed the offences during his role as a doctor at a private health centre at Tarragindi in Brisbane's south, police said.

The former medic was charged on Tuesday with 148 offences including 94 counts of rape and 54 counts of sexual assault.

An extensive investigation was launched into the alleged historic sexual assaults after detectives established Operation Xray Cariyna, police said.
