It’s been about a month since the Pure Pool Pro demo went live and over 5,500 players have picked up their cues to try it out. The team has spent the past few weeks digging through feedback from the Closed Beta, Steam Next Fest, Discord and social channels and they’ve shared what players talked about most and what’s being done in response.
The biggest topic was mouse and keyboard controls. Many felt they weren’t as smooth as they should be, which stood out since over 60% of demo players used that setup. The team is rebuilding the entire system, adding left and right-handed support and free mouse aiming that won’t require holding buttons. The full release will also include a short tutorial to help players get comfortable with the new setup.
Cushion physics were another hot topic with players saying shots off the rails lost too much energy. The team is adjusting bounce and spin behavior to better match real pool, while also improving cushion sounds for a more natural feel. Performance issues during the break are also being addressed with optimizations planned to keep the frame rate steady on all setups.
For those who want a cleaner, more immersive look, the full game will include a Pro difficulty with no aim lines and the team is exploring a global toggle to disable them in any mode. AI behavior is also being refined after players noticed odd shot choices and slow decision times.
A top-down camera view won’t be added as the developers want to maintain Pure Pool’s first-person style, though camera options are being improved for better visibility. Sound effects are also being reworked to add more weight and realism and while Blackball mode wasn’t part of the demo, the team says if it returns, it’ll be done properly with accurate rules and table setup.
Based on all this feedback, the team is shifting its focus to the most requested improvements, which means a few smaller features may be delayed. As a result, the release window is moving from late 2025 to early 2026. They believe the extra time will help deliver the best version of Pure Pool Pro on day one.
