Kevin Phillips believes Divock Origi could quit Liverpool to join Leeds United if he's growing tired of being a fringe player.
The Belgian international played second fiddle to Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah last season as the Reds claimed the Premier League title.
Although a popular figure at Anfield, the 25-year-old started just 13 games in all competitions last time out.
Having netted some famous goal, none more so than against Tottenham in the Champions League final, his time at Liverpool could come to an end.
Leeds and Aston Villa have both been linked with a move for Origi, with Marcelo Bielsa needing to add further competition for Patrick Bamford up front, with the future of Jean-Kevin Augustin uncertain.
With that in mind, Phillips says Origi could quit to get more game time elsewhere.
“I do not think he would want to leave Liverpool and go to a team that could be scrapping for survival again next season but I could be wrong,” he told Football Insider.
“Divock has been there for a while and he might be fed up with being on the fringes.
“He has won the Champions League and the Premier League and now he might just want to go and play football.
“When you go to somewhere like Villa or Leeds from Liverpool you expect to be playing virtually every game. That might be in the player’s thoughts.”
