PSNI appeal after front door of home 'doused with accelerant and set alight'

Detectives are appealing for information after an arson attack on a property in Armagh in the early hours of Saturday.

At around 3:30am this morning, April 22, police received a report that the front door of a house in the Drumadd Green area had been doused in accelerant and set alight.

Detective Sergeant Best added: "Officers along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished. Luckily no one was injured during the attack however scorch damage was caused to the front of the property and a bathroom window.

"We are treating this as arson with intent to endanger life and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious in the area at the time of the fire or to anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 213 of 22/04/23.

"Anyone with any information about this incident or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call detectives on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 100 29/04/21, or to submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
