PSG 'to target Sadio Mane transfer' if Neymar seals return to Spain

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing up a move for star Liverpool forward Sadio Mane if Neymar completes a return to Spain next summer.

That is according to France Football , who believe Mane will become the Ligue 1 champions' prime target should Neymar push for a transfer again in a few months.

The Brazilian was desperate to end his PSG hell and re-join former side Barcelona over the summer, but in the end a move didn't materialise and he was forced to stay in Paris.

But rumours linking the player with Barca and Real Madrid haven't stopped, and the 27-year-old is likely to ask the club to leave again when the summer transfer window opens.

If he does go, PSG have identified Mane as a perfect replacement, with the Senegalese attacker in sensational form for Liverpool so far this season.

Mane is the Reds' top scorer so far during the current campaign with 13 goals in all competitions and he has played a key role in helping his side to the top of the Premier League table.

It appears unlikely, however, that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool would let Mane go without a fight, and with the player under contract until 2023 it would take an astronomical transfer offer for the Reds to even consider selling him.

It also remains to be seen whether Mane would want to leave the club, especially if they go on to win the Premier League this season.

Mane was rested for Liverpool's 3-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend, but should return to action for the Reds' crucial Champions League game against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.

Klopp's side need to avoid defeat to guarantee a place in the knockout stages of the competition, but are likely to face a stern test against the team that have the Champions League's top goalscorer in 19-year-old Erling Haland.
