PSG boss Thomas Tuchel explains Edinson Cavani decision amid Chelsea and Man Utd transfer links

Edinson Cavani will play no part in Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 clash with Lille tonight.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed before the match that the in-demand forward had been left out of his squad for the game at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

The Uruguayan is currently being chased by Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, with the trio all keen to secure the 32-year-old’s services this month.

Recent reports suggested that Cavani could join the Blues as Atletico are struggling to comply with La Liga's salary cap.

"It’s a little bit the same thing with Edi,” Tuchel said, speaking amid the speculation surrounding the forward’s  future.

"He has been training with us for the past few days, but the situation is not clear for him either.  And for that, he will not be available for tomorrow."

The former Napoli man hasn’t featured for the French giants since January 12, with his last goal coming in the 5-0 thrashing of Galatasaray in the Champions League in December.

Cavani’s contract with PSG expires at the end of this season, when he will be able to leave for free. But all three clubs are desperate to secure his signature before the deadline on Friday.
