There was a time when getting your hands on a PlayStation 5 was next to impossible, especially during the first two years of launch. Fortunately, stock is readily available, and even though Sony raised the price for the base model to $550 and the PS5 Pro to $750, you can still snag a good deal during the holidays.
We initially thought Black Friday would be the best time to grab a PlayStation, but as reported by TheGamer, prices still haven’t returned to MSRP. You can grab the PS5 Pro for $650 ($100 off), the base PS5 for $450 ($100 off), and the Digital Edition for $400 ($100 off). If you plan to play all your games digitally, that $400 Digital Edition is definitely the best value here — AAA 4K gaming with access to Sony’s exclusives, for less than the price of a Switch 2.
Accessories And Games Are Also On Sale
No console setup is truly complete without at least two controllers. You can grab the DualSense controller in various colors for $60 right now. For those who play FPS games or love their mappable back buttons, the DualSense Edge Wireless is also on sale for $170 ($30 off). It’s an expensive controller, but it offers numerous customization options, swappable parts, and a high-end feel. It could be an excellent gift for someone who already owns a PS5.
And for those who want to get into sim racing games, you can grab the PlayStation 5 Pro with Thrustmaster T598 racing wheel bundle for $1,158 ($190 off!). Direct drive wheels can get expensive (even on sale), so for those on a budget, the G923 at $255 ($145 off) might be a better deal.
At Walmart, NBA 2K26 is available for $30, which is an excellent deal at $40 off. Similarly, FC 26 is available for $35 (50% off), MLB The Show 25 for $20, and Madden 26 for $35 (50% off). You’ll also find similar deals at Amazon, though we weren’t able to find Madden and MLB in stock at the time of writing.
The best thing about buying a PS5 this late in the lifecycle is the fact that you now have more to enjoy. Some of the best sports games are already out, GTA VI and Wolverine are coming next year, and you won’t have buyer’s remorse since no new versions will be coming until we eventually get to the PlayStation 6.
