Prowler creeping through Scots garden runs scared after tripping light sensor in CCTV clip

This is the moment a prowler was caught creeping through a Scots garden before being scared off when he trips a light sensor.

The hooded lout was spotted on CCTV scoping out a property on Blyth Street in Kirkcaldy at around 1am on Saturday, December 4.

In the video he can be seen slowly creeping into the garden through a side gate.

He appears to peer through a window at the house before taking an edgy look to his left, then his right.

He then looks up and waves his hand in an attempt to check if there are any sensors at the property.

The masked man then bends down and creeps towards the grassy area at the back of the garden.

At this point a sensor triggers and a bright light flicks on.

He then quickly skips back towards the gate and bends down, hiding behind some garden furniture.

Finally, he slowly grabs an item from the ground before making off.

Police have launched a probe after they received reports of "items being stolen" from the garden of the property.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.40am on Saturday, December 4, officers received a report of a items being stolen from the garden of a property in Blyth Street, Kirkcaldy.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
