Protesters march through Nottingham city centre in solidarity with Ukraine

A demonstration in Nottingham city centre took place today (March 19) as protesters set off on a solidarity march with Ukraine. Members of the Nottingham Ukraine Solidarity Campaign - a group of Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian's opposed to the war and invasion - organised the rally and were joined by hundreds of others.

Demonstrators began the march at the Robin Hood statue by Nottingham Castle and made their way towards Old Market Square as chants of "what do we want?" followed by "Putin out" rang through the city. Those on the march waved their Ukrainian flags and held up various signs critical of the Russian invasion of the country.

The march carried on through Queen Street and up to the Victoria Centre as chanting against the war continued. You can watch live video coverage of the march on Nottinghamshire Live's facebook page.
