Pro Football Focus is ranking the top 50 players in the NFL heading into the 2019 season, and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner came in at No. 3 overall. He joins Russell Wilson (No. 39) as the two Seahawks ranked inside the top 50.
Wagner has earned an incredible 93.0 overall grade since 2016, showing off elite skills in both run defense and in pass coverage, making him the complete package as a middle linebacker. He was nearly perfect as a tackler last season, only missing one tackle all year.
The 29-year-old middle linebacker is set to become a free agent after the 2019 season. He is currently negotiating an extension to remain in Seattle long-term, although a deal has not come to fruition just yet.
Wagner is planning to attend training camp, like he did with minicamp and OTAs, but he will not participate until he has reached an extension.
With six weeks until training camp is set to begin, the Seahawks and Wagner will no doubt have plenty of conversations to try to get a deal done to keep him in Seattle for a few more years.
