Princess Eugenie gives rare look at family life and important message she's teaching son

Princess Eugenie has given a rare look at her family life - and revealed the important message she's teaching her two-year-old son.

The eco-conscious daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson says she will teach toddler August about climate change.

The 33-year-old royal avoids single use plastics at the family home she shares with husband Jack Brooksbank and their child - with their second due in the summer.

The couple's 2018 wedding was also plastic free.

Eugenie has been an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation, which aims to reverse environmental damage to the ocean, for two years.

Last week she took part in its Solent Seascape Project - the first step to achieving that goal in the UK.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine she said hearing about Seascape "blew me away".

"I couldn't wait to come down, and seeing it first-hand is pretty cool. It’s amazing to watch these people dedicate their time to the bio-diversity of our seas, and I want to do as much as I can to help, too."

Donning a white lab coat and rubber gloves, the heavily pregnant royal used tweezers and a nail brush at the University of Portsmouth to clean hundreds of oysters before they could return to the reef.

Last year Eugenie hosted the Ocean Advocate Series on sea conservation.

She said: "Since August came into my life, it's positively impacted my desire to do more.

"Priorities change when you have children; you want to do everything you can for them - and for your grandchildren.

"August is only two but I hope that what I'm doing will seep through to him and that one day he takes it on, too."
