Prince William spotted watching Nottingham Forest suffer Aston Villa defeat

Prince William was in attendance as Nottingham Forest fell to a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

His Royal Highness took in the game from the directors' box at Villa Park and was joined by his son Prince George, as well as Villa co-owner Nassef Sawiris.

The Prince of Wales is a Villa supporter and it looks as though his son George is following in his footsteps. It was a pleasing afternoon for the family, who saw their team beat Forest thanks to second-half goals from Bertrand Traore and Ollie Watkins.

Among the other interested observers at Villa Park was England boss Gareth Southgate who, from a Three Lions perspective, may have been looking at Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White. Joe Worrall and Jonjo Shelvey are also eligible for England but are unlikely to be in line for call-ups.

It was a difficult afternoon for Forest, with head coach Steve Cooper answering questions about his future in a post-match press conference. The Reds have slipped into the relegation zone after rivals Bournemouth beat Leicester City.
