Prince William pours abysmal pint at pub and jokes he's better at 'drinking them'

The Prince and Princess of Wales have today enjoyed a lunchtime pint at the Dog and Duck pub in Soho, and Prince William even tried his hand at bar work.

In footage that may well leave some beer lovers feeling a little under the weather, the prince could be seen attempting to pour the perfect pint as a smiling Kate looked on.

Helped out by a member of staff, the future king could be seen pumping away at the beer tap but didn't exactly appear confident with his pint-pulling abilities.

A voice off-camera could be heard saying that it was "expertly done", but William didn't appear too sure as he admired his handiwork, sarcastically replying "oh really?" to the amusement of others.

The 40-year-old prince then deadpanned: "I'm not too bad at drinking pints", adding that pulling pints was another matter.

With an unsure "ta da", William revealed the rather sorry-looking pint, which his "very good tutor" hailed as "perfect".

Although it wasn't exactly the perfect pour, it's fair to say bar work isn't usually part of Prince William's everyday duties.

Much to the surprise of London commuters, William and Kate today caught the Elizabeth Line for the very first time, jumping on at Acton and riding three stops to Tottenham Court Road where they attended their pub engagement in Soho.

The royal couple were seen enjoying pints together, and they also took the time to meet staff members from other local businesses ahead of the upcoming Coronation weekend.

When asked about their own plans for the Coronation, Kate replied: "Yes, it's going to be a busy time. We're getting there. I still feel like we're trying to get ducks in a row."

Yesterday, William and Kate were seen at Westminster Abbey with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, where they were taking part in an all-important rehearsal for the day itself.
