Prince Philip in car crash while driving near Sandringham Estate

Prince Phillip has been involved in a car crash near Sandringham Estate that left the 97-year-old Duke uninjured.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the Duke of Edinburgh had been involved in an accident on Thursday afternoon near the estate in Norfolk, and police were called to the scene.

"The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon," the palace said in a statement.

"The Duke was not injured. The accident took place close to the Sandringham Estate."

It is understood the Range Rover the Prince was driving rolled on its side in the incident, and two passengers in the other vehicle involved received minor injuries.
