Prince Harry's relationship with Royal Family 'strained' as interviews 'haven't helped'

Prince Harry's relationship with his family has become "strained" as he continues to speak publicly about royal life, reports say.

The Duke of Sussex, who now lives in the US with wife Meghan Markle, has made remarks to several media outlets about the Firm.

The pair spoke to Oprah Winfrey in a March for a bombshell interview, before he joined the famous host again for an Apple TV+ series.

Harry also revealed royal details on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, where he talked about Prince Charles.

And both the prince and Ms Markle appeared in a video with James Corden.

All of the media appearances have garnered significant attention for the royal family, with Harry describing his "pain and suffering".

A source has told Entertainment Tonight that feelings between the Sussexes and the rest of the family continues to be "strained" because of the publicity.

"The fact that there have been several additional interviews discussing family matters hasn't helped the situation," the insider said.

Harry and Meghan first stepped back from royal life in March 2020, before confirming the move in January 2021.

They then sat down just months later for the explosive chat with Winfrey, in which allegations of racism were made.

Buckingham Palace released a statement in the aftermath which said matters would be addressed "privately".

Prince William also came out in public and said the family was "very much not racist".

But, since the interview with Oprah, Harry has continued to take swipes at the royal family.

He returned to Britain for Prince Philip's funeral in April of this year but it otherwise said to have not spoken to relatives much.

Harry has accused royals of "silence or total neglect" when it came to “every single ask, request, warning” for help with harassment he claims he and his wife suffered in his Apple chat with Oprah.

And during the podcast, Harry also suggested his dad's parenting left him with “genetic pain and suffering” and said he wanted to "break that cycle" while raising his own children.

Charles has not commented publicly on the claims.

But in the aftermath of the initial Oprah interview, the Palace said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
