Prince Harry makes shock appearance on Strictly Come Dancing

Prince Harry shocked Strictly Come Dancing viewers tonight as he made an appearance on the show.

The Duke of Sussex appeared on the popular BBC show on Saturday night to support his friend JJ Chalmers.

Prince Harry and JJ know each other through the Invictus Games and before JJ took to the floor a VT showed him chatting to the Prince with his dance partner Amy Dowden.

In May 2011, JJ, 33, sustained devastating injuries in a blast while serving in Afghanistan.

He suffered facial injuries, lost two fingers and his right elbow disintegrated - reports Chronicle Live.

Paying tribute to his heroic grit and determination and giving him some words of encouragement, Prince Harry said: "When I first met JJ he was a shell of himself but then to see you shine through Invictus and to be yourself again, that was the start of an amazing journey.

"You're definitely having an impact on society now especially when you're wearing those tight blue shorts and the socks pulled up.

"It doesn't get better than that!"

"I'm genuinely proud. You're not a dancer, proving that you can actually do whatever you put your mind to which is amazing."

Reacting to Harry's video, JJ said: "The simple fact is, if Prince Harry had not created the Invictus Games, I would not have had that catalyst moment to change my life forever.

"I wouldn't be here without him."

JJ scored a measly 4 from Craig Revel-Horwood, while Shirley Ballas gave a 6 and Anton du Beke was most generous with a 7, after JJ said he hoped he hadn't let Prince Harry down.
