- Mr Justice Nicklin ruled that the claimants "failed to prove their pleaded allegations of unlawful information gathering," which included accusations of voicemail interception, landline tapping, and obtaining information by deception, also known as "blagging."
- The judge, in his 436-page judgment, accepted the denials of ANL journalists, who provided lawful explanations for their sourcing, and found no proof that senior ANL figures had lied in their evidence to the Leveson Inquiry.
- ANL hailed the High Court ruling as an "overwhelming victory" and a "magnificent vindication of the Daily Mail’s journalism," having strongly denied the claims and argued the cases were brought too late.
- During the 11-week trial, the Duke of Sussex testified about the impact on his wife and former girlfriend, while other claimants detailed alleged intrusions such as unlawfully obtained medical information and private conversations.
