Prince Harry is back for Prince Philip's funeral - why Meghan Markle isn't

Prince Harry has returned to the UK to be with his family after Prince Philip's death.

The Duke of Sussex landed at London Heathrow Airport today (April 12) after making the journey from his Los Angeles home.

But Prince Harry has not been able to make the journey with his wife, after doctors ruled out travel for Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, Birmingham Live reports.

And the Duke of Sussex won't be staying in his official royal residence - as that's already occupied.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are instead living in Frogmore Cottage.

It is thought Prince Harry was driven to Kensington Palace after landing at Heathrow, The Sun reports.

And so he may instead stay at Nottingham Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace, which is where he and Meghan lived before they were married.

Prince Philip's funeral will be held at 3pm on April 17 at St George's Chapel. The service will be televised and a minute's silence will be held across the country.

Speaking about the funeral, a Palace spokesman said: "This event will be much reduced in scale with no public access.

"In line with Government guidelines and public health measures, there will be no public processions and the duke's funeral will take place entirely within the grounds of Windsor Castle.

"The plans have been given final approval by the Queen and reflect appropriately Government advice.
