Prince Harry 'homesick' but Meghan seeking 'perfect LA life' claims expert

Prince Harry is reported to be playing polo in California because he is so "homesick". The Duke of Sussex is finding comfort from a sport that reminds of him of home, according to one royal expert.

Duncan Larcombe also claims that Harry is starting to socialise with new friends and has been going out for drinks as Meghan Markle bids to make him feel settled in a "perfect LA life". The couple live in an £11million mansion in an exclusive neighbourhood of Montecito and recently former Suits star Meghan was photographed watching Harry play polo at their local club, writes the Mirror.

Despite their luxurious lifestyle, Mr Larcombe reckons that Harry's "self-imposed exile" is getting him down, reports the Daily Star. Speaking to Closer, he said: "He seems homesick to me. Harry’s suddenly playing polo again and drinking with his new friends – all things he used to enjoy doing in the UK. "Meghan is cheering him on on the sidelines, helping create this perfect LA life for him to justify what he’s given up in the UK. But something doesn’t seem to sit right. Harry looks unhappy.

"He is living out there in self-imposed exile and Harry is a very sociable person. "In his formative years he had lots of friends – including his estranged brother William – and was always spending time with them. He must sometimes wonder if everything he has given up has been worth it."

The comments came after the pair returned home to LA after a brief and low-key visit for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations at the beginning of the month.

Harry and Meghan announced they were quitting life as working members of the Royal Family two years ago and a couple of months later they made their way to California.

Since then the Sussexes have reportedly amassed a long list of celebrity pals who live in Montecito - including Orlando Bloom and Kate Perry whose children are said to have had play dates with Archie and Lilibet.

Oprah Winfrey - whose bombshell interview with the Sussexes aired in March last year - is also said to be among their new pals.
