Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are 'being used by Netflix', says royal source

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new docuseries is not even out yet, but everyone is talking about the explosive new Netflix show. And according to one royal source, the couple are being "used" and "exploited" by the streaming giant.

On Good Morning Britain this morning, a relative of King Charles III appeared on the show following the drop of the second trailer, where Meghan and Harry could be seen saying they would reveal "the truth". GMB's North America Correspondent Noel Phillips revealed to the ITV show what the royal source had said.

The unnamed source allegedly said that the Sussexes were "prey" and "candy" to people "in the habit of using" others in response to Netflix and the trailer. The source claimed Oprah Winfrey "benefitted" in the same way after her explosive televised interview with Meghan and Harry last year, according to The Mirror.

Speaking on the show on Tuesday, Noel said: "There's a lot of anxiety around Harry and Meghan's new reality TV show. Let's call it that because it is a reality TV show. If the two trailers are an indication of what is to come, I think it's fair to say a lot of people should be worried.

"But we have been speaking to a relative of the King who has spoken anonymously to this programme, essentially accusing Netflix of exploiting The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying the £88million deal they signed to tell their story, Netflix has taken it and glamourised it and manipulated their story.

"Supporters of Harry and Meghan say that is far from the truth and absolutely not what is happening, this is very much Harry and Meghan taking control of their narrative and there is no stopping them right now."

He then read out the source quote, saying: "By letting them loose they are now prey for anybody in the habit of using people. Harry and Meghan are being used and they are prey for anybody who wants to make money. Oprah did so. She benefited from that interview.

"They are like candy for people who want to use them. They are now in such a vulnerable place they have to deal with the sharks and charlatans."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
