Prince Charles laughs off Prince Harry's attacks as he struggles to drink pint

Prince Charles laughed off son Prince Harry's attacks as he struggled to drink a pint under his face mask on Thursday.

The Prince of Wales sipped a drink in an eponymously named pub in Clapham, south London to mark the reopening of hospitality.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, looked on as the heir to the throne worked out the way best way to get to his drink.

Charles is yet to respond publicly to allegations made by Harry that he made him "suffer" while growing up.

The Duke of Sussex has used a new docuseries on Apple TV to level several allegations at the royal family.

Harry accused relatives of showing him "total neglect" and telling him to "play the game" - so his life would improve.

And in another interview this month on the Armchair Expert podcast, he said: "When it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain and suffering because of the pain and suffering that perhaps my father or parents suffered, I'm gonna make sure I break that cycle so that I don't pass it on."

Charles and Camilla visited the capital to show support as pubs, bars, restaurants and shops reopened after the pandemic.

The pair chatted to staff and members of the public before grabbing a drink themselves.

The couple marvelled at the pub which was inside was crammed with an eclectic array of items - from traffic lights to glaze legs brought back by a former owner from his travels around the globe.

As he walked in, pulling a mask on, Charles commented: "I’ve always thought it would be rather fun to go round visiting every Prince of Wales in the country.

"Hopefully I’d get a free drink in each one!"

The couple then chatted to owners Dermott Connell and Terry Slate before walking behind the bar

"Now," Charles said enthusiastically. "Do you want me to pull a pint?"

The royal couple admired the amount of spirits on display before making their way to the pumps.

"Here we go," the future king said as he began pulling the lever.

Looking at his handiwork he said: "I think that’s enough. I’m not going to drink it all."

He then got the giggles as he attempted to pull up his mask for a sip.

"Bit difficult this one," he said.

"That’s going to be an interesting one to drink through a mask," joked Camila.

Venues have been able to welcome customers inside in groups of up to six from May 17.

While Charles is yet to issue a statement in response to Harry's comments, it is said he is "boiling with anger".

Royal expert Nick Bullen, editor in chief of True Royal TV, said the prince is "hurt" and "disappointed" by his youngest son's comments, but is holding back from responding publicly.

He told US Weekly: "It appears nothing is off limits now", he said.

"It's sad that their private family affairs are being aired in public yet again."

Mr Bullen said the revelations from Prince Harry's interviews with Oprah Winfrey and others have come as a huge surprise to prince Charles, who "is boiling with anger" over his son's comments.

"He feels tortured by Harry with his constant digs. He wishes he'd just let it drop", he said.

"The general consensus within the royal family is to ignore Harry's behaviour to avoid fanning the flames, but Charles is finding it hard to hold back. He really wants to defend himself."

He also spoke to Winfrey back in March alongside wife Meghan Markle when claims of racism from within the royal family were made.
