Prince Andrew will be “invisible” during all of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events next year, according to a Royal source.
The Duke of York is due to be pulled from any of his mother’s celebrations marking 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.
Prince Andrew has been embroiled in an ongoing scandal surrounding allegations he sexually assaulted Virginia Roberts Giuffre when she was a teenager.
The Queen has four children who will all be involved in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, except Andrew who will be removed.
A source has said: “The plan is for him to be invisible during celebrations.”
The celebrations are due to take place in June 2022, which potentially clashes with the legal case being brought against Prince Andrew.
Andrew denies the allegations against him.
Ms Giuffre is seeking unspecified damages from the 61-year-old, according to Birmingham Mail.
She claims she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the duke’s former friend, to have sex with Andrew when she was aged 17 and a minor under US law.
Earlier this month the Metropolitan Police said it was taking no action over Ms Giuffre’s claims.
The Duke previously denied all allegations in a controversial BBC Newsnight interview.
He told Emily Maitlis in an interview which was widely ridiculed: “I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened.
“I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.”
