Prime Video top 10 shows — here’s the 3 I’m binge-watching this weekend

Prime Video’s trending list is always shifting as brand-new releases shoot upward while fan favorites slip back into view. It’s a quick way to see what everyone’s watching, but with so many titles, deciding what’s really worth your time can be tough.

That’s where this week’s roundup helps. I’ve cut it down to three standout picks that should be on your radar.

This mix includes a new teen drama from one of the creators of Netflix’s “Outer Banks,” the adrenaline-fueled prequel to “The Terminal List,” and “Gen V” ahead of its season 2 premiere later this month.

This is based on the Prime Video top 10 U.S shows as of Friday, September 5, 2025.

Best shows in the Prime Video top 10

‘The Runarounds’

Prime Video recently released a fresh series from Jonas Pate, best known as the co-creator of Netflix’s hit teen drama “Outer Banks,” and it might be the ideal late-summer binge. The show, titled “The Runarounds,” is a drama inspired by the real-life band that the story revolves around.

A group of five high school graduates in Wilmington, North Carolina, form a rock band the summer after graduation, pouring their energy into original music and chasing a breakthrough. The cast — including William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher — are actual musicians portraying fictionalized versions of themselves.

Over eight episodes, viewers follow the band as they record songs, navigate personal relationships, and ride the ups and downs of launching their music careers all while balancing the expectations of real life.

‘Gen V’

“Gen V” season 1 is back on Prime Video’s trending chart, and it’s not hard to see why. With season 2 dropping later this month, plenty of fans are probably diving back in for a refresher (and I’ll be doing the same this weekend).

Set in the same universe as “The Boys,” the series follows a group of young supes training at Godolkin University, a prestigious school run by Vought International. At first, life is all about rankings, powers, and status, but things quickly spiral when Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her classmates uncover dark secrets hidden within the school.

Along the way, they’re forced to question who they can trust and how far they’re willing to go in a world where every move is watched, and often manipulated.

‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’

“The Terminal List: Dark Wolf” serves as a prequel to Prime Video’s hit series “The Terminal List” starring Chris Pratt. This new chapter follows Navy SEAL Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) years before the main story, tracing how he evolves from a disciplined soldier into a covert CIA paramilitary operative.

As Edwards trains and fights alongside his eventual ally James Reece (Pratt), he’s pulled deeper into clandestine assignments that test where his loyalties lie. The story kicks off with a mission against ISIS targets and quickly expands as Edwards — along with fellow SEAL Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper) — is drawn into shadowy work under a manipulative CIA handler.

Across the series, audiences watch the pivotal missions and decisions that transform him from a steadfast brother-in-arms into a man with compromised convictions and a much darker outlook.
