Prime's Lovestruck High: Bristol model agent in new show narrated by Lindsay Lohan
A Bristolian model agent who has been unlucky in love is set to try his hand at finding 'The One' on a brand new dating show narrated by Lindsay Lohan. Lovestruck High follows a diverse group of UK-based singles in their twenties as they go back to school for a second time to try and find love.
But these second-time students won't just be going back to any old drab British secondary school; they will be fulfilling their teenage fantasy by entering the nostalgic picture-perfect world of an American high school, set in Devon, in their search for love. Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan will be lending her voice to the series as they embark on an important mission: to find their perfect date for prom and be crowned Prom Royalty.
From sitting down in the cafeteria, to homecoming, to cheer try-outs, Lovestruck High creates the perfect, rose-tinted backdrop for flirting, finding friendship, and falling in love. There's plenty of drama too, as not all students will make it to prom, and some of them will be expelled.
The Prime Video series builds to an epic season finale with the Lovestruck High prom, where one couple will win the prom prize pot of $100,000. One of the singles entering Lovestruck High is 21-year-old Theo, a model agent from Bristol.
Theo, who has experienced his fair share of dating disasters, is competing on the show due to his love for High School Musical. The model agent said: "I love that film and I do cheerleading anyway. I’m unlucky in love and I’ve never been in a relationship, so this will help with that."
Whilst Troy and Gabriella fell in love in High School Musical, Bristol's Theo never had a high school sweetheart, as he was one of just two openly gay boys in his year at school. He said: "There was only one other openly gay boy in my year, but no one else was open. There were others in my year because some of them have been in my DMs since school, but there was no one to even start a conversation with or flirt with."
According to Theo, who is on the hunt for 'that Sunday kind of love', it can be difficult to find a gay man who is up for a relationship. He has used dating apps, but has never met anyone through them.
"I sometimes find that on the apps it can be over sexualised. If you are going to meet a man it will usually just be for sex." Theo said.
"Some gay men are very sexual and don't go in for relationships mostly, but I'm not like that. I don't want just meaningless hook ups - that's not really fun for me."
Theo has had his fair share of dating disasters. The 21-year-old said: "The ones I have dated have mostly been in the closet or still finding themselves.
"They would never go out on a date - only meet at their home or go to a drive thru. I've only been on one date outside. It's is tough coming out and accepting yourself, but I have already been through that, I don't want to go through it again with someone else.
"I never had to come out, my family and friends always knew really. It was just when everyone became attracted to the opposite sex, I became attracted to boys."
Determined Theo, who has said himself that he has high standards, was popular at school, and enjoyed gymnastics and cheerleading, the latter of which he will be participating in during his time at Lovestruck High. As for the all-important prom, Theo is committed to becoming Prom Royalty.
Theo said: "I'd do a lot for it. Everything I do, I win, so I would be surprised if I don't win.
"If it is not going my way, I might have to finesse my way up there. I'll find out when I get there."
