I test vacuums for a living, and I always recommend renewed vacuums to my friends and family, especially when looking for the best Dyson vacuums that are usually so expensive. They're rigorously tested and refurbished to meet the full function of a brand-new model, and it helps to minimize e-waste.
You Won't Find Better Value Than This Dyson V11 Torque Drive Deal
The Dyson V11 is simply one of the best vacuums we've tested, delivering an almost-unbelievable amount of suction power for such a lightweight cordless stick. Whether it was hair, dust, dirt, or food, the V11 banished it all in one or two passes, even from the thickest carpets.
The V11 Torque Drive is an alternative model, still with the same performance specs as the V11, but with a few different features, the most notable being the automatic suction adjustment.
Using floor sensors, the vacuum knows what surface you're cleaning and can increase/decrease the suction accordingly, without you having to think about it. It's the same feature we love in our all-time top pick, the Dyson V15 Detect, and is a great improvement compared to the standard V11's manual suction modes.
It's easy to be put off by the idea that a second-hand model won't live up to the performance of the original, or that it won't last as long. But actually, because of the meticulous and rigorous inspections these models go through from experts in Dyson engineering, they're essentially the same as brand-new, except for some potential aesthetic wear, like scratches and marks that don't affect the functionality.
Also, because they're often refurbished years after the original release, improved parts and filters have since been designed that can be installed into these cordless vacuums. So, you could be given a version with more up-to-date tech than the original. Plus, who doesn't want to minimize waste?
