An exciting new addition could be coming to Tesco stores in the near future.
Pret A Manger has announced it is to open its coffee shop in some Tesco stores.
The coffee and sandwich chain is planning to trial the first shop in Kensington with three further shop openings planned in the summer.
This follows the launch of Pret's first ever supermarket food range launched in Tesco in March 2021, with bake-at-home frozen croissants and granolas available in up to 700 Tesco stores across the country and Tesco.com.
All shops will serve a menu of freshly prepared food and organic coffee and teas, all prepared in Pret's onsite kitchens throughout the day. Coffees and other hot drinks will be prepared by Pret's trained baristas for customers to enjoy.
Chief Executive Officer at Pret A Manger, Pano Christou, said: "Last year we set ourselves the challenge of bringing Pret to more people. Since then, we've launched and grown our Pret-at-Home range, bringing the joy Pret to people's homes across the country.
"Now we're taking this further and bringing the experience of Pret to select Tesco stores, making it even easier for customers to enjoy our freshly made food and organic coffee as part of their regular Tesco shop.
"As the UK emerges from lockdown, this partnership with Tesco is one way in which we're transforming our business model to adjust to a new way of living and working. We look forward to working with the Tesco team on this partnership."
Tesco added: "We're pleased to announce a new four store partnership with Pret giving our customers an exciting new food to go offer.
"The first Pret will open in our Kensington store in June and we’re looking forward to seeing how customers respond to this trial."
