A NUMBER of road restrictions are now in force around Prestwick Airport ahead of President Donald Trump landing on Friday.
Thousands of people from across the country are expected to pack the roads and paths around the airport as Air Force One touches down.
The US President is due to embark on a five-day visit to the country, including stops at Turnberry and in Aberdeen.
Temporary parking and no waiting restrictions are now in place around the airport ahead of his arrival.
A Prestwick Airport spokesperson said: "Please be aware that temporary parking and no waiting restrictions are in place around the airport.
"To accommodate spectators in vehicles visiting ‘The Mound’, we have opened a temporary parking area off Shaw Farm Road.
"This area is open from today at approximately 10am and will remain open until Monday evening. Overnight parking is not permitted, and vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk.
"We kindly ask all visitors not to park on main roads or in residential areas, including those in Monkton and Prestwick. Illegally parked vehicles will be moved.
"Access roads MUST remain clear at all times for airport and emergency vehicles. Please respect our neighbours and follow all posted restrictions."
A number of protests are expected ahead of the US president's visit, including a business in Lewis who were previously asked by the council to remove a banner displayed in their shop window.
Lewis Revival, a vintage and home decor business based just a few miles from Trump's birthplace, are planning to reinstall the sign reading "Shame on you, Donald John" during his visit this weekend.
The sign will reportedly now feature signatures from locals as well as visiting tourists.
