President Election: WB CM Mamata Banerjee calls opposition leaders' meeting, says adopt a resolution to field common candidate

Opposition leaders' meeting ahead of Presidential poll

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday hold a meeting with several Opposition leaders to discuss the upcoming presidential polls.

It is an united fight against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance. They said that they will adopt a resolution to field a common candidate in the forthcoming polls. 

Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav is also present in the meeting. 

Leaders of 17 parties, including Congress, CPI, CPI(M), CPIML, RSP, Shiv Sena, NCP, RJD, SP, National Conference, PDP, JD(S), DMK, RLD, IUML and JMM, were present. 

The Presidential election to be held on 18 July and counting will be on 21 July.
