President confirms Liverpool's transfer interest in £33million star Milot Rashica

Liverpool are keen on signing £33million star Milot Rashica.

That's according to the president of the Kosovan Football Federation Agim Amedi, who says German outfit RB Leipzig are also looking at snapping up the 23-year-old.

Kosovo international Rashica currently plays in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen, and his strong midfield performances have attracted the attention of suitors.

"There are many requests for him," Amedi told Syri TV.

"I know that Liverpool in the Premier League want him, but also Leipzig in the Bundesliga. I am sure that he will be advised in the best way to make his decision."

Rashica has a £33million release clause in his Werder Bremen contract.

The young midfielder would therefore be a cheaper alternative to Leipzig star Timo Werner, who is also on Liverpool's wishlist.

Werner has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield for some time, and RB Leipzig managing director Olivier Mintzlaff recently admitted the forward could leave.

He said: "In the Covid-19 crisis, we have other issues greater than concerns about contracts. We know the terms of our players' contracts and I know them very well - especially that of our top performers.

"For us, it is a no go that the top performers will be allowed to leave our club free of charge. That's the case with Timo Werner and that will be the case with Dayot Upamecano. I have the economic stability of the club in mind.

"We have to sell before we buy anything. But I see the need to sell only to a limited extent. We have a good squad."
