Premier League clubs on red alert as Dusan Vlahovic 'will not remain in Italy' after leaving Juventus

Dusan Vlahovic will leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

The Serbia international has been an integral member of the Juventus attack since arriving in 2022 for £60million from Fiorentina, scoring 68 goals in 168 appearances in all competitions.

Seen as the long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, during his time in Turin, only Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has scored more goals in Serie A than Vlahovic.

However, he has missed large parts of this season because of a thigh injury, registering just seven league goals in 19 appearances.

Despite this, manager Luciano Spalletti made it clear that Vlahovic had a role in his plans and trusted the club to be able to keep him on board.

“We missed Vlahovic terribly because we don’t have someone else with his characteristics,” Spalletti said last month. “A winning team needs a physical, strong centre-forward.

“Even if he’s not that tall, he still needs to be able to hold off defenders, deal with the physical duel.”

Juventus have not won a Serie A title since 2020 and finished sixth this season which means they and will not play in the Champions League next season.

As such, Juventus have been forced to make tough financial decisions and the Serbian’s salary demands, according to club director Giorgio Chiellini, could not be met by the administration after months of negotiations.

"I am very sad, he [Vlahovic] cared about Juve right up to the last minute," Chiellini told news agency AGI.

"He is a serious professional. With these figures, he won’t remain in Italy, so it is only fair and legitimate that he is seeking a different type of salary."

According to reports, Vlahovic could be looking at a move to the Premier League with Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle all registering interest with his team over the years.

There are inquiries elsewhere as Bayern Munich and Barcelona also reported to be keeping an eye on him.
