Pregnant Amy Hart forced to explain herself as fans slam her for buying baby formula

Amy Hart has hit back at mum-shamers who are already pestering her about her parenting choices.

The former Love Island star, 29, is expecting her first child with fiancé Sam Rason, with her due date just two short months away in March.

Since announcing her pregnancy, Amy has been vocal about the kind of mothering techniques and skills she hopes to adapt, but her choices have been constantly questioned by social media users who have been 'mum-shaming' her for months.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the expectant mum clapped back at keyboard warriors who have been Amy slamming over her nappies and breast-feeding choices.

After sharing a haul of a collection of baby products including nappies, formula, and breast pads, Amy felt compelled to come on to her stories to explain her reasoning for purchasing baby formula despite the fact that she plans of breastfeeding her baby.

The expectant mum revealed that she has been bombarded with messages from mums who have been sharing unsolicited advice and questioning her on why she feels the need to purchase formula, while others have claimed that she has bought the wrong size nappies for her unborn baby.

According to NHS advice, if a mother and her baby have some difficulties getting breastfeeding established, or if there are concerns about a baby's weight, the mum might be advised to give some formula feeds alongside breastfeeding.

Amy reiterated this as she explained that it is usually possible to offer a baby bottles of expressed milk or formula alongside breastfeeding.

Addressing her choices, a makeup free Amy clapped back at the mums as she insisted that she has to learn for herself as she delves into motherhood for the very first time.

"I've had so so many messages about that last story - and they are all mainly the same messages. Number one, people are asking why am I buying size zero nappies and telling me that I am not going to need them," Amy explained.

"But when I bought size one last week, people were telling me that I had bought the wrong ones and asking me why I bought them. If I don't use the size zeros, I've got friends who are pregnant and they can use them.

"On the breastfeeding and the milk stuff, obviously I would love to breastfeed but if I can't breastfeed I will express. If I can't express, I will use formula. Already, people are messaging me asking me why I think I won't be able to breastfeed and they're saying it's easy.

"They're telling me that I just need to try but there are other reasons that people can't breastfeed guys. And if I got ill, and it was left up to Sam to feed the baby, he definitely can't breastfeed so that's why I have the formula," she added.

Amy and her fiancé Sam went public with their relationship back in August 2021 and have gone from strength to strength, with the pair moving in together after one year.

Throughout the course of her relationship, Amy had been open about her journey to parenthood before sharing her delightful news on Loose Women in August, alongside Sam.

In recent weeks, the star revealed close friends and family had started to become suspicious when she attended events and didn't drink any alcohol.
