Things looked grim halfway through the season, but an upturn sparked by the signing of Bruno Fernandes saw the Reds climb into a third-place Premier League finish, qualification for the Champions League, and lengthy runs in all three cup competitions.
United have captured the services of 23-year-old Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax for the new season, and remain hopeful of signing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho before the transfer window closes next month.
