Power failure delays Reds-Tahs rugby trial

A Super Rugby Pacific trial game between Queensland and NSW has been delayed because of a blackout. (AAP)

A power outage has delayed the kick-off in the Queensland Reds and NSW Waratahs Super Rugby Pacific trial game by more than an hour.

Electricity for the stadium's lights returned just as officials were to announce to the 2000-strong crowd in Roma in regional Queensland that the clash would be called off.

The game, which will kick-off at 8.50pm AEST instead of 7.30pm, will be the first opportunity for the Reds' Wallabies stars James O'Connor and Jordan Petaia to have game time ahead of the Super season opener against the Melbourne Rebels next Saturday.
