Potential Jets target Kayvon Thibodeaux thinks New York is a ‘perfect fit’

Kayvon Thibodeaux can see himself thriving in New York. Do the Jets or Giants feel the same way?

The 2022 NFL draft prospect will find out on Thursday night, as he is expected to fall off the board during the first half of the first round. The Jets and Giants, meanwhile, each have two top-10 picks and are in need of a pass-rusher.

Thibodeaux is eagerly volunteering his services.

“That’s the biggest stage. That’s primetime,” the Oregon product said of New York on Wednesday, per SNY. “I’m ready, I’m excited. I don’t want to get no hopes up. I’ll be grateful to go anywhere, but that’d be fun.”

Thibodeaux has been a popular pick for the Jets in mock drafts, but there are other pass rushers Gang Green can target with the fourth or 10th pick. There has been a lot of buzz linking New York to FSU edge rusher Jermaine Johnson lately, and there’s also Georgia’s Travon Walker and Purdue’s George Karlaftis.

Thibodeaux, however, insists that he would be right at home in The Big Apple after tallying seven sacks in his final collegiate season.

“My business savvy is a perfect fit,” he continued. “My gregariousness is a perfect fit. My hunger for knowledge is a perfect fit.”
