Potato chips sold across US recalled over possible contamination

  • Utz Quality Foods is voluntarily recalling certain Zapp’s and Dirty brand potato chips sold nationwide due to potential Salmonella contamination.
  • The recall was initiated after the company learned that a dry milk powder seasoning ingredient from a third-party supplier could be contaminated.
  • Affected products include various flavors and sizes of Zapp’s (e.g., Bayou Blackened Ranch, Big Cheezy, Salt and Vinegar) and Dirty brand chips (e.g., Maui Onion, Salt and Vinegar, Sour Cream and Onion).
  • No illnesses related to the recall have been reported, and the company issued the recall out of an abundance of caution.
  • Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled chips and should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
